How long have you been playing?Started annoying parents, neighbors and pets at age 5 "drumming" on everything within reach, Got a "real" set of Ludwig drums at 8, (annoyance + louder = hopeless for everyone), picked up guitar at 11 (note values + pitch/duration = "D"iscipline/practice) -, Noodling on the neighbor's Hammond (it had a LESLIE !!) between obsessing on the guitar... Joined the team at Oberheim Electronics later on and picked up a few (very) chops on synth and sound design,....it goes on,.. and on,...and I never recovered form any of it (still at it today)
What was the first concert you ever went to?The Doors at Mount Tamalpais festival
What gear do you use?Gibson: Les Paul, 356, Paul Reed Smith, Fender Strats, Washburn and Taylor acoustics, Korg Trinity, Triton, controllers, Roland VP 550, Avid Pro Tools and Sh#!-Load of plugins (most of which are never used) Neumann U87 and tons of old analog hardware including a complete Jurassic Park section dedicated to Oberheim synths. + more stuff,...
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?Pete Fountain, The Beatles, Whether Report, BB King, Eric Clapton.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?Not currently.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?Pete Fountain. His music and playing style so corrupted my ear that I'd love to meet up with him just once to let him know what it did to me.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?10-20K people - but of course, always love the small, "intimate" audiences (like two people,.. married to other band members, etc.) that we all relish from playing little dive clubs wherever they are/were. (Actually some of the better gigs?)
